Uniquely Singapore
I am really looking forward to the next film by the husband-and-wife tag team of Colin Goh and erm, wife.
No, its not because their first movie was a classic - in fact, Talkingcock The Movie was quite embarassing! Lousy acting (actually, technically, there was NO acting involved), lousy production values. BUT, how can true-blue Singaporeans resist the chance to watch true-blue Singaporeans spewing Singlish on the big screen? And to support-support those cock-sters? (Non-Singaporeans Alert: its Singlish, not a vulgarity!)
The reason why I am already dreaming about their second film is because it is sparked by their essay "Paved With Good Intentions", which they wrote some six years ago. They tried to explain, in their own words, "the difference between the Singaporean Dream and the Singaporean Plan", and it really touched a chord when I first read it.
Just found out today about this new movie - it will have its premiere on 12th April. But too bad for me, all the bloody tickets are sold out!
